150,000 AAUW members advocating for education and equity for women and girls through two overreaching programs:
EF celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first Fellowship in 1988. The Eleanor Roosevelt Fund was established to help encourage
Science and Math teachers and to do research. Several studies have been done and published since then. The Teacher Project
part of the program has been set aside and ER Funds are applied to research and studies produced concerning gender equity for
women and girls in school and the workplace.EF has been the heart of AAUW. Programs and ideas continue to be looked at as EF expands its outlook. The main focus is still
on help ing women meet their potential through grants and fellowships in many areas never imagined in 1881.The most recent expansion was to merge the Legal Advocacy Fund under the EF umbrella. These funds support women seeking
redress from sexual harassment in higher education.--Submitted by Mary Jo Borrego, Member, AAUW CA EF Committee
